Terms of Service
Effective date: July 24, 2026
These terms govern your use of Tax2290.ai (the "Service"), an online service for preparing and electronically filing IRS Form 2290 (Heavy Vehicle Use Tax) and related IRS forms, including Form 8849 refund claims. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms.
1. What we do
We provide software that prepares your return from the information you enter and transmits it to the IRS through the IRS-authorized e-file system, and we deliver the IRS acknowledgement to you (including the stamped Schedule 1 for accepted Form 2290 returns). We are a filing service — we are not the IRS, and we are not a law firm or an accounting firm. Information on this site is general in nature and is not tax, legal, or financial advice for your specific situation.
2. Your responsibilities
- Provide accurate, complete information (EIN, business details, VINs, weights, dates). The return is filed from what you enter, and you sign it electronically with your PIN.
- You must be authorized to file for the business whose EIN you use.
- Keep your account credentials confidential; activity under your login is your responsibility.
- Review your return before submitting. Once the IRS accepts a return it cannot be recalled or changed through the Service (corrections require an amendment or other IRS process).
3. Fees and payment
The service fee is shown before you pay and is charged when you complete checkout (processed by Stripe; we do not store your card or bank details). Any tax you owe is paid separately by you to the IRS through the payment method you select on your return. Refunds of the service fee are governed by our Refund Policy — in short, the fee is non-refundable once the IRS accepts your filing, and rejected filings can be corrected and resubmitted at no additional fee.
4. IRS outcomes
Acceptance of a return is decided solely by the IRS. We transmit your return and report the IRS's response, but we cannot guarantee acceptance, processing times, refund amounts, or any other IRS outcome.
5. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tax2290.ai and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the service fee you paid for the filing giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
6. Acceptable use
You may not use the Service to file fraudulent returns, misrepresent your identity or authority, probe or disrupt the Service, or violate any law. We may suspend accounts that do.
7. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how we use it, including transmission of your return data to the IRS.
8. Changes
We may update these terms; the effective date above will change when we do. Continued use of the Service after an update is acceptance of the revised terms.
9. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Questions: [email protected] · 17350 State Hwy 249, Ste 220 #7793, Houston, TX 77064
